Fishing

Redhill coarse fishing 1 mile. 4 other lakes within 4 miles. Fishing available on the rivers Monnow and Wye, both famous fishing rivers.

Golf

Greens of Southern Wales can advise on the suitability of local courses. Rolls of Hendre,(2 miles away) Celtic Manor, St Pierre Monmouth, Raglan Park and Usk (Alice Springs) nearby. 20 golf courses within 3/4 hr drive of the farm.

Horse Riding

The very popular Dingestow Tread and Trot circular route for horse riders, walkers and cyclists runs through the farm. We offer parking for horse trailers by arrangement. The Kings wood and Trothy Valley riding routes are also very popular.

Walking

Offa’s Dyke Path runs close to the farm. The area has numerous well signed footpaths including the Wye Valley and Three Castles Walk. The Forest of Dean and Tintern forest and the 1000 acres of woodland joining the farm provide walkers paradise. There is a program of local guided walks catering for all abilities. Guests can leave the car and join Monmouth “Discovery” guided ½ day minibus tours of back roads to discover villages, castles and ancient Inns. Mountain rambling in the Black Mountains (15 miles away) and the Brecon Beacons (25 miles away). Farm maps are available showing the location of new habitats and features. A Drying area is provided for walkers and a pick up at Monmouth can be arranged. The bluebells in the wood are at their best now during May.

Wye Valley and forest of dean- visitor guide

We spent several days visiting and walking in the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, and we were lucky with beautiful weather.  Lovely accommodation in a well designed and equipped cottage.  Many thanks for everything.

Cycling

Safe cycle storage is provided. Local cycle hire is available at Monmouth.Use your mountain bike in the woods adjoining the farm.

Canoeing

Canoe hire at Symonds Yat.

Geocaching

There are many caches nearby and with WiFi access in the cottage you can easily log finds.

Wonderful cottage,  friendly welcome, beautiful part of the country all made perfect by the stunning weather.  Will recommend to all Geocachers out there.
